We had our first Home Study "Meeting" this Tuesday 1/29/13! We were so excited we could hardly wait. It went really well. Yes, she did asked many questions, but it made us all feel at ease as we know we are in the right hands. She is so kind! I absolutely Love Amy! She is a doll, as my mom would put it.
We went over our expectations of being parents, and what we had been led by the Lord to write in our Auto Bios!
We met at 9:00-1:20 ish, and yes we talked ALMOST The entire time. At first, we all discussed the information we placed on our paper work and then one at a time. I asked Derek to go first. Since I talk way too much, he should go so we would have time. It went FAST! We met at The Hills Church in North Richland Hills Area. It has the best coffee shop and book store! So while I waited on Derek, I could finish my Bible study and shop.
Example of questions she asked: What does it mean to be a mother? Can you explain the experiences in your Auto Bio? How do you feel about this or that?
For those of you thinking it is a horrible experience, IT IS NOT!
I wish all married adults would do this, it makes you think if you are ready to be a PARENT, not just a friend!
So what's next???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
ANOTHER HOME STUDY AT OUR HOUSE!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!! Next Wednesday! We were shocked!
I have to tell you, we did come home and do some Spring Cleaning, and I still have more to do, but if you know us, you know I'm NOT ORGANIZED/Derek is! So this has put me in CLEANING MODE!
THEN WHAT?
We wait for approval, after I write the Birth Letter to the perspective mother, and our family book. If you are family/friends you are probably in it and THEN WAIT!!!
"The Waiting Game,"" as stated by Dr Seuss....OH, THE PLACES YOU'LL GO.
We have to remember IN GOD's TIME! It is hard, because you just want to go out and get everything ready for adorable bundle of joy...then you think, I shouldn't count the chicken before the egg hatches. Wait and pray for the Mother and Father that are making this decision out of love. Until next Blog, please pray for the women and men and their families making a most difficult decision ever. No matter where, what situation, Pray for them to have peace and love and know that they are wrapped in the loving arms of the Lord.
If you know someone wanting to Adopt or know anyone in a situation waiting a loving place to turn with child, Abilene Christian Home may be their answer.
